Hello from Vermont!

We have spent the past few days in the forested hills of Vermont, dreaming of the wind-swept hills of Iceland as we finalize plans for our program. We can’t wait to form our team of travelers and embark on this journey! The Land of Fire and Ice awaits us, with its volcanic slopes, steaming geysers, sweeping glaciers, and glassy fjords to explore.

Prepare for a fun and learning-filled trip as we navigate not only the landscapes but also the ecosystems and fascinating human culture of this enchanting island nation. We will visit new locations, try new activities, and meet new people nearly every day. Gear up by double checking your packing list. In particular, bring sturdy and comfortable hiking shoes that are already broken in, for happy feet on the rugged and often wet terrain we’ll traverse. Make sure you have a warm and waterproof rain jacket and versatile layers of clothing.

You should also bring a good notebook and a few pens. We will want to document our bucket-list experiences in writing and drawing, and take notes to retain all we learn. And don’t forget your eye masks for sleeping! We’ll need to rest well, even under the Midnight Sun, to have energy for each day’s adventures.
